St. Senan’s

St. Senan’s Education Office was established by Bishops Murphy, Walsh and Murray in April of 2007 to assist those who serve as chairpersons and members of the boards of management of the primary schools under the Bishops’ patronage across the dioceses of  Kerry and Killaloe and Limerick. Mr. Joe O'Connell served as Director of the office from it's establishment in 2007 to Nov. 2009 and was instrumental in developing the range of services and supports offered by St. Senan's.  Ms. Fiona Shanley has been Director of the office since 2009.   In 2015, Saint Senan's Education Office also started providing services to boards of management in the Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly.

St. Senan’s Education Office acts as a first point of contact for the management of Catholic schools in the three dioceses and the Archdiocese. Whilst offering telephone and email support on issues of policy and procedure, the office also focuses on the development of good practice and bespoke training for members of the boards of management.

A steering committee meets monthly to review the operation and functioning of the office and your suggestions are most welcome. The steering committee comprises of Very Rev. Donough Canon O'Malley  and Ms. Catherine Kelly (Limerick Diocese), Very Rev. Nicholas Flynn (Kerry Diocese) and Very Rev. Gerry Kenny (Killaloe Diocese).
